Welcome to Sher Strength!

Everyone is getting older. The collective “we” start losing muscle and bone density in our 30s. For women, this loss is accelerated during peri-menopause and the first few years of menopause and then continues at a slower but steady rate.

What Clients Are Saying...

"You have a trifecta of skills that I have never found elsewhere: knowledge, patience in teaching and kindness. You immediately got me and understood my fear of pushing myself and still stuck with me.I can see the difference in my body, strength and confidence. I hope we can continue to work together for many years to come!"

A.J., Personal Training Client

"Your patience, persistence and consistency AND specifically that you would hear my concerns or challenges and reframe/repeat back in a way that had so much clarity and support, felt fresh and new in spite of my years of trials and efforts. Still don't get how you were able to translate all of it so coherently! As I began to feel stronger and have more capacity to do the workouts and started to get a sense of my own growth. I feel empowered and hopeful and I'm very grateful and feel like working with you has shifted my health experience."

K.F., Personal Training Client

"My workouts with you are times that I really look forward to every week. Our sessions are always challenging and I feel really motivated to push my personal boundaries. My fitness has improved and I feel much stronger compared to when I started. I am reaching goals I never imagined! Although I was interested in weight training before we started, I never imagined that it could be fun and interesting. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and for the obvious care that you take in meeting your clients where they are."

HI, I'M TARA SHER,

I’m Tara Sher, a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, wife, and mother of two teenagers, two cats, and a dog.  I’m a firm believer that strength is the foundation for better health.

I’m not a bodybuilder. I’ve never been an elite athlete. The most competitive sports I played were in high school.  Yes, my childhood love for sports led me to prioritize fitness as an adult. From my 20s through my 40s, this meant playing basketball and tennis, swimming, running, yoga and biking.

During those same years, I fueled my body with Diet Coke and sugar. I relied on them to power through long work hours and to fuel my sleep-deprived self as a mother of two.  By my late 40s, peri-menopause, a pre-diabetes diagnosis, brainfog, extra weight, and low energy set in. I felt exhausted, frustrated, and pulled by the demands of work and family with little time for myself.
